The PCC is considered to be the most successful streetcar design ever built. PCC cars began operating across Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan., in 1941, dramatically updating the type of equipment used by the Kansas City Public Service transit system. Using 107 color and b&w illustrations, co-authors Davis and Bernhart bring back the era of PCC cars operating through Kansas City's urban landscape. The scenes depicted have greatly changed in the years since KCPS streetcar operations ended in 1957. Rosters detailing the final disposition of the PCC cars are included, plus a look at older KCPS streetcars and work equipment. This book is being made available by the authors for sale through South Platte Press.
